My City, My SM campaign has been going on for years to celebrate the rich culture and to honor the traditions around the Philippines. This year, SM launches My City, My SM, My Music at SM City Masinag to give an emotional tribute to the celebrated composer, the late National Artist of the Philippines for Music, Maestro Lucio D. San Pedro Sr.
This is a joint project of SM, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, the Filipino Heritage Festival, and WCOPA, with support from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, National Music Competitions for Young Artists, and Tahanan Books, My City, My SM, My Music highlights the best in indigenous, folk, classical, and contemporary music in different cities where SM has malls.
The event highlighted the life and works of the late maestro which includes a performance of his popular composition, Sa Ugoy ng Duyan, by his soprano granddaughter, Mary Grace Soleill San Pedro and the Angono National Symphonic Band.
It also highlighted an exhibit of his treasured memorabilia of original compositions, trophies, plaques, family photos and musical instruments he played.
The launch was graced by the children of the National Artist - Rhodora Delos Santos and Lucio San Pedro, Jr.
