You probably have friends who are freelancers and you also want to be like them but don't know where to start. I have been working as a freelance writer since 2008 and back then the opportunities for paid writing gig were scarce. If you want to write and get paid, here are some websites for freelance writing perfect for beginners.
Upwork is the most popular among all types of freelancers. Signing up an account is easy and once you're in, the volume of freelance writing jobs available is overwhelming. Of course, entry-level projects doesn't have lucrative pay but as you work your way up and establish yourself as an excellent freelancer, you can get project offers that pay more.
ProBlogger is specifically for freelance writing jobs. While I have heard of too many scammers in Upwork (so you have to be very vigilant!) the clients at ProBloggers pay to have their job posting published. What I also like about ProBloggers is the articles that you can read on the site that can help you especially if you are just a beginner.
Verblio is a beginner-friendly platform for freelance writing. They have clients from different industries like accounting and finance, fashion, healthcare, IT, and many more. You will definitely find a topic you'll love to write about.
iWriter is a platform that connects you to clients requiring writing jobs such as articles, article rewriting, product reviews, and blog posts. You can choose the topic that matches your interest. Pay can go up to $40 for a 500-word article.
Intellifluence caters to writers who have their own blog sites and are active on social media platforms like instagram and twitter. You will earn badges that can help you land more writing opportunities. This is my favorite and have already written 51 articles. You'll get paid via PayPal but you have to reach and earning balance of $25 or greater.
