From start-up to breaking records: realme surpasses 200 Million global shipments in just 5 years

Sunday, December 3, 2023

realme officially joins the ‘200 Million Club’ in the international arena

After entering the highly saturated global market in 2018 and since achieving the 100 million sales milestone in 2021, realme has continued to leap forward against all odds and announced that its global smartphone shipments have surpassed 200 million units.

Amidst the increasingly competitive market and a stable hierarchy of leading brands, realme embarked phases of growth to gain widespread recognition as a key player, becoming the fifth-fastest brand to achieve said milestone and officially joins the elite '200 Million Club' in the international arena. Since its inception, realme remained true to its commitment to provide disruptive technology experience that is backed up with deep consumer insights and propelled by product innovation.

Fast-forward to 2023, realme focused on delivering a breakthrough tech, design, and performance experience to its users by following the “No Leap, No Launch“ in which leap-forward technology is guaranteed in each generation of products. Driven by the diverse demands of global users, realme gains value recognition from users and grows alongside them, achieving mutual success.

On bringing realme to new heights and growing with its global consumers

realme upheld a healthy and steadfast growth in the thick of a shrinking global smartphone market and despite the pressure from external environments. The weight and influence of its stance in the international market have increased. This only empowered realme to persevere with its mission and bring an even better, comprehensive lineup of products to young people worldwide.

With the milestone of 200 million global shipments, realme has truly become a mainstream international smartphone brand. It has established a strong presence in most global regions with a market share from emerging markets (88%) far exceeding other members of the '200 Million Club.

realme devotes itself to continuous innovation and invests in R&D. As a matter of fact, the brand set up the realme Global Institute of Leap-forward Technology early this year to oversee product competence and focus on groundbreaking technologies in four key areas: display, photography, gaming and charging.

In 2024, realme plans to significantly boost its technological capabilities with a planned 470% increase in R&D spending. The brand will bring together over 33 leading international tech partners to develop cutting-edge technologies, specializing in imaging, gaming, display, and charging. Moreover, realme also looks forward to expanding its pool of tech talent, engaging in Research & Technology team expansion, with an expected 400% increase in research personnel next year.

As realme's founder and CEO, Sky Li, expressed in the brand's fifth-anniversary open letter, the era of "elevator-style" development in the smartphone industry is over. Future steps will be more challenging, but each step brings realme closer to its next destination. As it climbs towards new milestones, realme remains committed to its original vision, continually scaling new heights, listening to its users, and growing with them worldwide, creating more realme miracles together.

Discover the Future of Fast Pizza: GOPIZZA, Korea's No. 1 Single-Serve Pizza, Now Available at Changi Airport with Cutting-Edge AI Technology

Tuesday, October 17, 2023

GOPIZZA Changi Airport

Renowned pizza brand from South Korea, GOPIZZA, made its debut at Changi Airport's Terminal 2, marking its 25th establishment in Singapore with new flavour and AI-technology introductions within the company.

GOPIZZA’s Next-Gen AI-Technology for Perfect Pizza Anytime, Anywhere

Pizzas are often thought to be a shared-serving meal that requires substantial time to be prepared. However, the launch of GOPIZZA challenges this very mindset by introducing single-serving pizzadelivered just like a fast-food meal. Every step of the pizza-making process is strictly controlled with the incorporation of the AI Smart Topping Table, GOBOT Station, and its latest iteration of GOVEN.

This new series of AI-Technology roll-out is especially prominent in GOPIZZA’s Changi Airport outlet, where it ensures consistent and fresh baked pizza for hungry travellers who often face the urgency of purchasing food-on-the-go.

“We're thrilled to bring GOPIZZA to the heart of Changi Airport's Terminal 2. Our core belief is that time is of the essence, and this is also reflected in our motto, 'Fast, But Delicious'. Incorporating breakthrough technology in our processes, we aim to redefine the dining experience by merging speed with taste. At Changi Airport, travellers can now enjoy quick, freshly baked on-the-spot pizza, ensuring they don't have to compromise quality for time." shared Jay Lim, global CEO of GOPIZZA.

GOPIZZA’s Five Minutes Pizza Journey

Each pizza is assembled on the AI Smart Topping Table, where a smart camera is installed overhead to swiftly identify and track pizza toppings, guiding the staff through each step of assembling the toppings. At the AI Smart Topping Table, the consistency of the ingredients and its quantities are maintained through correction alerts.

It is then baked for 3 minutes in an AI-controlled GOVEN that is twice the temperature as compared to its conventional counterpart.

In just a couple of minutes, the freshly baked GOPIZZA lands on the GOBOT, which is designed to automatically slice the pizzas into GOPIZZA's signature shape and keep them warm until they are served to the customers.

Airport-Exclusive Flavour & Classic K-Food Delights

Chilli Crab Pizza

With already over 12 different flavours in its menu, GOPIZZA seeks to spoil patrons’ choices even further with another new addition – The Chilli Crab Pizza. Paying homage to the iconic local dish, this airport-exclusive flavour is infused with the rich and tangy flavours that Singaporeans adore, where every bite promises a symphony of sweet, spicy, and savoury notes, mirroring the beloved taste of the classic chilli-tomato sauce. GOPIZZA’s Chilli Crab pizza aims to satiate both the international traveller's curiosity and the local's craving for a taste of home. Alongside the Chilli Crab Pizza, GOPIZZA also launched a series of creatively fresh offerings, such as the Jalapeno Pepperoni Pizza and Truffle Cheese Pizza, also available only at their Changi Airport outlet.

Among other delectable offerings, GOPIZZA remains true to its brand as a Korean pizza brand, introducing Korean delights like Bulgogi Pie, specially curated for the breakfast menu, as well as presenting a classic favourite, Topokki, embodying the essence of Korean street food culture.

All of GOPIZZA’s delicious pizzas are served on GOPIZZA’s Crispy Basak Dough, where it achieves the perfect pizza texture – crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The Crispy Basak Dough is also engineered to withstand delivery, guaranteeing that every pizza, whether enjoyed on the spot or delivered to your door, maintains its oven-fresh taste.

GOPIZZA’s Expansion - Locally and Globally

Locally, GOPIZZA has established an impressive count of 25 outlets across the island after the brand first opened its doors here in 2020. Simultaneously, on a global scale, GOPIZZA is experiencing remarkable growth, with projections indicating that the total number of outlets will reach an impressive 200 by October.

This global expansion plan is in full swing, and GOPIZZA is set to open its fifth outlet in Central Park, Indonesia in November 2023. This expansion comes on the heels of the successful inauguration of CGV Grand Indonesia in 2022 and the recent launch of an outlet in Mall of Indonesia.

GOPIZZA's innovative approach to pizza-making, driven by cutting-edge technology and an unwavering commitment to taste-consistency, has made it a beloved choice for pizza enthusiasts worldwide, ensuring a bright and promising future for the brand both locally and globally.

Store Information

Nestled between Dunkin Donuts and Boost Juice Bar, GOPIZZA is located at T2 Departure/Transit South, Unit No. 02-K15 at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 Departure Hall. Operating hours are from 6AM to 1AM daily.

Mama Bambu Empowers Women and Advances Sustainable Bamboo Industry in Indonesia

Monday, July 31, 2023

In the arid islands of East Nusa Tenggara, a remarkable transformation is underway, spearheaded by the unstoppable force of Mama Bambu (Mothers of Bamboo). This group of empowered women is not only championing sustainable bamboo farming but also reshaping societal norms and combating climate change. With approximately 532 members and driven by the visionary Yayasan Bambu Lingkungan Lestari (YBLL) or Environmental Bamboo Foundation, Mama Bambu is sowing the seeds of change by planting 1.2 million bamboo seeds across seven districts, propelling Indonesia's burgeoning bamboo industry to new heights.

For six years, Mama Bambu has been at the forefront of a revolution, rewriting the social, cultural, and economic landscape by defying gender roles deeply ingrained in the region. Traditionally, females are not expected to farm and create livelihood in East Nusa Tenggara, but the Mama Bambu has defied convention by showing that bamboo cultivation can provide them with livelihood opportunities and most importantly a lifeline during challenging times, such as the recent pandemic.

The impact of Mama Bambu's work is best exemplified through the words of Lusia Ndeng, a member of Mama Bambu from Bangka Wela Village, Manggarai. She shares, "The money we received from the bamboo cultivation program has been very beneficial for our family, especially in supporting our children's education. Initially, I had no plans to send one of my children to college, but with the earnings from this bamboo cultivation program, I can now provide higher education for my child."

Angelina Wea, a member of Mama Bambu from Nggesa Biri Village, Ende also added "We are very satisfied with the results of our work over the past few months. We earned extra money that we can use for daily needs such as food and school fees for our children. We hope to participate in the bamboo cultivation program again because we really need it."

Lusia and Angelina’s testimonies reflect the tangible and positive changes that Mama Bambu is bringing to the lives of women and their families. Breaking free from traditional gender norms, these empowered women are cultivating bamboo and securing livelihood opportunities that were once considered beyond their reach. Their determination and resilience have not only transformed livelihoods but also challenged societal norms, fostering gender equality and inclusive development.

"Together, we are nurturing a society where women's voices are heard, their contributions are valued, and their impact on environmental sustainability is celebrated," declared Monica Tanuhandaru, Chairperson of YBLL, emphasizing the profound impact of Mama Bambu's endeavors.

Furthermore, Mama Bambu and YBLL have partnered with the provincial government to ensure that 70% of social forestry permits are granted to women. This ongoing collaboration demonstrates their commitment to breaking down barriers and forging a path towards gender equality and sustainable environmental stewardship.

The Versatility and Impact of Sustainable Bamboo Farming

The impact of Mama Bambu extends far beyond individual empowerment. As part of Indonesia's flourishing sustainable bamboo industry, the bamboo planted by Mama Bambu serves a multitude of purposes, ranging from building materials, carbon capture, and even green mobility initiatives. The versatility of bamboo positions it as a key player in tackling the ecological, social, and cultural challenges faced by communities worldwide.

According to YBLL, sustainable bamboo planting plays a pivotal role in addressing ecological, social, and cultural issues. Bamboo is an invaluable resource with tremendous potential for combating climate change and promoting sustainable development. The success of our initiatives in Indonesia demonstrates how sustainable bamboo practices revitalize ecosystems and empower local communities, particularly women." said Monica.

Carbon neutrality stands as a critical achievement in sustainable bamboo farming. Bamboo, known for its remarkable growth rate, can reach heights of 3 to 10 centimeters per day, making it an ideal choice for reforestation and carbon absorption. Based on research done by YBLL, they found out that each hectare of bamboo forest can absorb 50 tons of CO2 annually.

Additionally, the Sustainable Bamboo Forest method, meticulously implemented by YBLL, ensures that bamboo planting and harvesting are calculated to maximize carbon capture. Unlike conventional harvesting practices, YBLL's approach preserves portions of the bamboo plantation, leading to compounded carbon capture and ultimately achieving a carbon-neutral process

Furthermore, the impact of sustainable bamboo farming goes beyond carbon neutrality and encompasses vital benefits for communities residing in vulnerable areas. Regina Nias, a member of Mama Bambu from Bangka Wela Village, Manggarai, shares her insight, "With this bamboo cultivation program, we have gained a deeper understanding of the benefits of bamboo, one of which is its ability to prevent landslides. Our area is susceptible to landslides, and bamboo plays a significant role in preventing them."

The significance of bamboo's role in preventing landslides cannot be overstated, especially in regions like Regina's, where such natural disasters pose a constant threat to communities' safety and well-being. By cultivating bamboo, Mama Bambu is not only empowering women and revitalizing ecosystems but also contributing to the resilience and protection of vulnerable areas against environmental hazards.

Moreover, Astrid Lusiana Embu, a member of Mama Bambu from Wolowea Village, Nagekeo, emphasizes the importance of continuing the program for the sake of their cultural heritage. She states, "Our village has a strong bond with bamboo and we use it for various essential facilities, such as our traditional bamboo bridge, which is crucial to us. We have to replace the bamboo every year when it reaches its harvest age. So, if we don't preserve bamboo, we won't be able to preserve the existence of our bridge."

Astrid's words shed light on the deep cultural significance of bamboo in her community. The traditional bamboo bridge not only connects their village physically but also symbolizes their connection to nature and heritage. Mama Bambu's sustainable bamboo farming efforts play a crucial role in preserving this vital cultural element, ensuring the continuity of their traditions and way of life.

Sustainable Vision for The Future

With unwavering support from YBLL, Mama Bambu envisions a promising future where sustainable bamboo practices thrive. YBLL is actively involved in the development of two schools dedicated to research and development, training craftsmen, and nurturing entrepreneurs in the field of sustainable bamboo. This forward-thinking approach aims to strengthen the bamboo industry by fostering innovation, knowledge exchange, and skill development.

Moreover, YBLL is committed to conducting groundbreaking research on the impact of bamboo plantations on water sources. The successful outcomes of this research hold the key to preserving water sources in arid areas where Mama Bambu communities reside. By ensuring sustainable water management, these regions can enhance their resilience and thrive in the face of environmental challenges.

Having already mapped the vast carbon capture potential of bamboo in multiple Indonesian provinces, YBLL is at the forefront of developing a comprehensive carbon-neutral mechanism for bamboo planting and utilization. This comes as Indonesia sets ambitious targets to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060. YBLL's pioneering efforts have led to the creation of an end-to-end scheme that maximizes the sustainable potential of bamboo, aligning perfectly with the nation's green goals.

YBLL also explores the possibility of expanding its sustainable bamboo initiatives to Southeast Asia, it seeks to forge partnerships with governments, local communities, and other stakeholders who share a collective vision of a greener, more prosperous future. The region's potential for bamboo industry development and its favorable policy conditions present an opportunity for YBLL to extend its expertise and community-based forestry system.

One country that exemplifies the immense potential of the bamboo industry is the Philippines, which currently ranks as the world's 5th largest exporter of bamboo. The Philippines has taken remarkable steps towards promoting this sector through the implementation of the "Bamboo Industry Development Act." This legislation stands as a testament to the government's unwavering dedication to nurturing a flourishing bamboo industry within its borders.

YBLL recognizes the significance of this legislative initiative and views it as a positive indicator of the region's interest in bamboo as a means of sustainable economic growth and climate change mitigation. Through collaborations in research, community empowerment, and sustainable practices, YBLL is committed to creating a positive and lasting impact on bamboo-dependent communities and the environment in the region.

AC Ventures and Boston Consulting Group release report on decarbonization and Indonesia’s green growth potential

Thursday, July 13, 2023

Earlier today, Indonesia's leading early-stage venture capital firm AC Ventures (ACV) and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) jointly released the country’s premier report on the decarbonization sector and its sweeping implications for the nation’s “green growth” potential, outlining a pivotal role for the country on the global stage as it seeks to transform its economy.

“Green growth” is a term to describe a path of economic growth and prosperity that is also environmentally sustainable.

Titled “Catalyzing Indonesia’s Green Growth Potential,” the report launched during an online press conference, in which BCG Project Leader Brendan Board presented an overview of the report’s key findings, followed by a panel discussion with BCG’s Managing Director and Partner in Singapore Marc Schmidt, AC Ventures’ Principal of ESG Lauren Blasco, and Maka Motors’ Co-founder and CEO Raditya Wibowo. The panel then conducted a live Q&A session with reporters from around Southeast Asia.

As the fourth largest global greenhouse gas (GHG) emitter, Indonesia faces significant environmental challenges and stands critically exposed to climate change risks.

Lauren Blasco of AC Ventures explained, "However, Indonesia also possesses the immense potential to transition to a green economy. This shift is an opportunity for startups, MSMEs, and investors to play a leading role in fostering sustainable economic development and combating climate change."

According to the report, green growth in Indonesia involves three key focus areas – strategy and professional services (a US$46 billion potential market by 2030), solutions that optimize GHG intensity (a US$350 billion potential market by 2030), and emission offsetting (a US$3.5 billion potential market by 2030).

To leverage these opportunities fully, the report lays out how Indonesia can boost green financing, develop supportive regulatory frameworks, and nurture green talent. These measures will be crucial in meeting Indonesia's ambitious emission-reduction targets for 2030 and supporting the country's continued economic growth.

Marc Schmidt of BCG said, "Building a low-carbon economy and the associated decarbonization will provide opportunities for stakeholders across all sectors, including Indonesia’s large and important MSME sector. Broad participation by innovators will be essential to implement and sustain the necessary changes in Indonesia's economy."

Lauren said, "Our report underlines the tremendous decarbonization potential Indonesia holds. For example, the international demand for voluntary carbon credits is set to skyrocket, increasing by about 27% annually until 2030. Currently, around 30% of the world’s total carbon reserves are in Indonesia’s peatlands alone. When we commoditize their preservation, Indonesia is poised to be a frontrunner in this burgeoning market. We foresee our carbon credit market expanding to 140 million tons by 2030, a huge leap from the 40 million issued in the past decade. At a projected rate of US$25 per ton, this market alone could bring in US$3.5 billion annually, signaling a significant opportunity."

Indonesia, as Southeast Asia's single largest economy and one that is projected to be the world's fourth-largest by 2050, has a considerable stake in transforming into a green growth economy. Not only is this transformation environmentally imperative, but it is also a substantial business opportunity. The report estimates the value of Indonesia's green growth opportunity at US$400 billion, combining industry revenue and carbon offset potential.

The report also spotlights the potential for smaller-scale ventures like startups and MSMEs, as well as investors and financiers, to drive Indonesia's transition. For instance, Unravel Carbon, a notable startup providing a SaaS decarbonization platform, and MAKA Motors, accelerating EV two-wheeler adoption in Indonesia, exemplify the country's emerging green growth sector. Meanwhile, ventures like Fairatmos aid carbon mitigation project developers, establishing a developing domestic carbon credit ecosystem.

To address the nation’s significant talent shortage, especially in the green startup space, Indonesia has established the National Talent Management body to develop and retain talent. Simultaneously, the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) is fostering sustainable finance practices, and the country's central bank has joined the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).

"Indonesia's path to green growth is clear, but the journey will require concerted efforts from all sectors," said Marc. "We're calling on businesses, citizens, financiers, and investors to join us in building a future that's sustainable and equitable for all."

Lauren added, "In developing the regulatory frameworks and driving green growth across the economy, it's crucial to ensure a 'just transition.’ We need to consider the interests of all stakeholders and create economic transformations that are fair and equitable."

dnata advanced cool chain facilities in Dubai

dnata, a leading global air and travel services provider, handled 135,000 tonnes of perishable goods through its advanced cool chain facilities in Dubai in the 12 months up to March 31, 2023.

The most popular imported products handled into Dubai included fruit and vegetables such as mangoes, strawberries, tomatoes, avocadoes and cherries, primarily from locations in Europe, the Far East, South Asia and Africa. dnata also managed the export of a significant quantity of local UAE perishable goods, including large shipments of frozen fish to Ethiopia, bread and yoghurt to Djibouti, and fresh milk to Somalia.

Best-in-class infrastructure and equipment

dnata continues to make significant investments in infrastructure and equipment to ensure efficient and safe handling of perishable goods. This includes transportation to and from the aircraft in high-tech ‘cool dollies’, specially designed to serve perishable and pharmaceutical industries with a closed temperature-controlled system.

dnata’s cool chain facilities at its Dubai World Central (DWC) hub provide a total of 22 separate storage areas, offering a range of temperatures from -20°C Deep Freeze through to Refrigeration and 25°C Controlled Room Temperature.

“We are committed to consistently investing in infrastructure and the latest, digital technologies to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading global cargo hub. Despite extreme weather conditions in the summer, our world-class facilities, advanced equipment and close cooperation with our partners and authorities ensure that each piece of perishable cargo remains at its optimum storage temperature throughout the transportation process. We will continue to enhance our operations and processes to maximize efficiency and deliver the highest value for our customers globally,” said Guillaume Crozier, dnata’s Senior Vice President, UAE Cargo & Global Cargo Strategy.

Leading handler of Pharma

dnata plays a key role in the safe handling of pharmaceuticals and vaccines in Dubai. Its facilities include dedicated Deep Freeze and refrigerated storage for health care and life sciences products. It maintains Key Performance Indicators established by CEIV, with the ability to deliver shipments within two hours of flight arrival.

dnata’s Dubai cool chain facilities were integral in the safe handling of global Covid-19 vaccines transportation, and in the 12 months up to 31 March 2023, it handled close to 8,000 tonnes of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.

dnata’s Dubai cargo facilities at both DWC and Dubai International (DXB) airports are certified by IATA’s Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma). Close collaboration with authorities

After the offloading process from the aircraft is complete, imported goods are transported to the dnata warehouse facility via cool dollies and moved directly into temperature-controlled storage depending on their requirements. They are then inspected by stakeholders where required including Dubai Municipality, Ministry of Health, and Customs to ensure product quality, and health and safety standards are met. Once approved, goods are then dispatched to the awaiting customer.

Large-scale shipments

Due to its ideal global logistical location, dnata’s vast Dubai facilities handle and safely store a broad range of cargo, working closely alongside the company’s airline partners. These products either arriving, transiting or departing to and from destinations around the world, range from clothing and shoes, to vehicles and aircraft engines.

Book with ‘DPNA code’ for extra support

A DPNA is an airline industry code for special service request (SSR) for a ‘passenger with intellectual or developmental disability’. The DPNA code can be applied to a booking made in person, via telephone or travel agent and is applied once the hidden disability is declared, so that the passenger will be supported throughout their journey with assistance from trained staff.

Study the ‘Autism Friendly Guide’ to Dubai International Airport

Emirates has collaborated with Dubai International Airport on a comprehensive pre-travel planning tool for passengers with hidden disabilities. The Autism Friendly Guide to Dubai International Airport provides a step-by-step explanation and images of every part of the journey through the airport to boarding, and details what services are available.

Pre-order meals

Some passengers may need a special meal onboard if they have a sensory sensitivity. This can be ordered a minimum of 24 hours in advance on www.Emirates.com or on the Emirates app. There are options to order gluten free meals, bland meals, vegetarian and diabetic meals. For Kids Meals, families who are travelling with an autistic passenger may contact the Emirates local office with their request in advance.

Pre plan what to watch on ice via Emirates app

Download the Emirates app, and before a flight - passengers can spend time planning and pre-selecting their favorite movies, TV shows or music playlists. Once the passenger has boarded, their personally curated playlist can be synced immediately to ice, saving time and enabling them to settle into the flight with the comfort of familiar content.

Arrival to airport

Complimentary parking for 2 hours

People of Determination get complimentary parking in all terminals in Dubai International Airport for 2 hours. People of Determination taxis can also be booked via Dubai Taxi on their toll-free number 80088088.

Collect the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Lanyard

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a globally recognized symbol for hidden disabilities. Emirates staff with Sunflower pins are easily identifiable and specially trained to assist travelers with hidden disabilities. Passengers are encouraged to declare their hidden disability to these staff and collect a Sunflower Lanyard to wear or bring their own from home, allowing for support throughout the airport journey. The sunflower lanyard can be collected from the information desk in Departures, Terminal 3 and from dedicated, easily identifiable collection points in Terminals 1 and 2.

Autism Friendly Route

The Autism Friendly Route through Dubai International Airport (DXB) ensures that People of Determination (POD) can move through the airport with a dedicated route. It includes access to priority lanes for check-in, passport control, security and boarding; and can be availed when wearing the sunflower lanyard. Specially trained staff equipped to support POD travelers will be easily identifiable wearing sunflower pins, allowing for increased visibility, communication and support throughout the airport journey.

Priority boarding or board last if preferred

People who have declared their hidden disabilities to Emirates staff will be facilitated in boarding the aircraft first if they choose, or last if this more convenient.

Emirates Inflight Experience

Families with children are seated together

Emirates makes every effort to seat families with children together, and passengers who have declared their hidden disability will be seated beside their companion or guardian.

Noise cancelling earphones

Passengers with an aural sensory need in First and Business Class will have access to noise‑cancelling headphones to block out ambient cabin sounds. Travelers can also bring their own Bluetooth enabled headphones if preferred.

Light Sensitivity

If the customer, child or family member informs Emirates cabin crew about a light sensitivity, cabin crew can turn off the passenger’s individual light, close the window blind after take-off, and explain that the cabin lights will be dimmed as soon as the meal services are completed.

Get busy with puzzles in Fly with Me magazine

Young children onboard who need a screen break or distraction can request a copy of the Emirates ‘Fly with Me’ activity pack, with its own pack of non-toxic coloring pencils, featuring kid-friendly world maps, puzzles, drawing tutorials, coloring pages, educational activities about Dubai and protecting the environment.

Choose your entertainment on ice

Passengers enjoying an Emirates flight can pass the time in a world class entertainment library with more than 5,000 channels of on demand entertainment, over 1,900 movies and 1,500 hours of TV, as well as music, podcasts and audiobooks across 40 languages, 5 channels of live TV including news from BBC, CNN and Sky News Arabia, and two channels with live sport coverage- Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra. Ice also has up to 100 video games, which can be played by two players in different seats - if the game is a multiplayer game.

Emirates continues to collaborate with multiple stakeholders including Dubai Airports, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai Customs, Dubai Police, Dubai Autism Centre and Dubai Economy and Tourism to improve the travel experience for passengers with hidden disabilities and is committed to working to help create a world where neurodivergent individuals feel accepted, represented, included, empowered, and heard. World Autism Awareness Day takes place annually on April 2.
